A copperplate-engraved advertisement for the publication of a work on phrenology by Mihara Muneaki. The misspelled English subtitle reads, "The Beaching by Pictures the Way of Improving Freely and Truely the Natural Constitution of Man, or Explanation of Phrenology by Pictures Necessary for the Givernment Officer am the Common People" (sic). Surgical tools and skulls are depicted in the margins.

 

One leaf, complete. Several folds, small holes to margins. 23.2 x 33.8 cm.
