[Japan: publisher unidentified, ca. Meiji 42 (1909)].
A daishō egoyomi (pictorial calendar) for 1910, featuring twelve poetry-slip (tanzaku) sized leaves, one for each month of the year, illustrated by the artists Shimomura Kanzan (1873-1930), Takeuchi Seihō (1864-1942), Taniguchi Kōkyō (1864-1915), Tokuda Rinsai (1880-1947), Kamisaka Sekka (1866-1942), Konoshima Ōkoku (1877-1938), Nishimura Goun (1877-1938), Terasaki Kōgyō (1866-1919), Imao Keinen (1845-1924), Kikuchi Hōbun (1862-1918), Kawamura Manshū (1880-1942), and Suzuki Shōnen (1848-1918). Each woodblock-printed leaf, loosely inserted into the album and kept in place with threads, provides information on the important dates of the month, the length of the month, the dates for each Sunday, and so on. The illustrations feature animals, flowers, plants, or activities representative of the month featured. A nice set of tanzaku prints on mica-treated paper, featuring illustrations with Neo-Rinpa nuances.
One concertina-folding (tanzakuchō) volume, complete, containing twelve woodblock-printed leaves. Presumed original boards, extremities slightly faded. Minor occasional foxing to prints. Browning to album leaves, waving to pastedowns. Unpaginated. 38.2 x 8.5 cm
