A collection of three famous works by Shakespeare - Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, and Othello - translated into Japanese by the novelist and playwright Kume Masao (1891-1952). Three illustrated plates (one for each play) are included, and the book is housed in its original slipcase.
One Western-bound volume, complete. Original boards, spine browned and with a few scrapes. Endpapers browned. Occasional small marks to leaves. Minor printing error on p.197-98. Small sticker removal to lower free endpaper. Original slipcase a little soiled, with scrapes and bumps to extremities. [2, 2], 458 p. 16.7 x 12 cm.
