An early Japanese edition of Peter Pan, translated by two of the most acclaimed Japanese novelists of the twentieth century, Kikuchi Kan (1888-1948) and Akutagawa Ryūnosuke (1892-1927). Several full-page monochrome illustrations are included, and the endpapers feature charming silhouettes of characters from the book. The binding, endpapers, title, and frontispiece were designed by Katō Masao and the vignettes by Ichiki Ton. Volume 34 of the Shōgakusei zenshū series.

 

One Western-bound volume, complete. Original wrappers, soiled, worn, with creases, extremities lightly bumped. Sticker marks and foxing to pastedowns. Occasional creases and small marks internally. Textblock extremities lightly bumped. Red stamp to colophon. 282 pages. 22 x 14.8 cm.
