A collection of fifty kimono designs by Nonoguchi Kajō. The colour woodblock-printed designs feature flowers, birds, rabbits, butterflies, fans, landscapes, bamboo, and other traditional and modern themes. A highlight of the work is the use of bright, metallic pigments. While the binding is significantly damaged, the prints are in remarkably nice condition. Nonoguchi Kajō is known to have edited one other book, Karumogusa, published by Unsōdō in 1930. Other details about his life have remained elusive. Only one copy traced in OCLC, at Stanford.

One five-hole-bound (itsutsumetoji) volume, complete, on double leaves, traditional East Asian binding style (fukurotoji). Original wrappers heavily worn, with stains, discolouration, tears, and losses, almost detached from textblock. Original mounted daisen title panel present. Losses to preliminary tissue guard. Light continuous stain to fore-edge and leaf margins. Ex-ownership signature to lower pastedown. Minor losses to opening corners of first few leaves, not affecting illustrations. Occasional browning, mostly to extremities. Central crease to several leaves. [51 unnumbered leaves]. 40 x 28 cm.
