Mt. Fuji and the scenic Miho no Matsubara area are depicted in this New Year surimono by Harada Keigaku (1803-1885). Keigaku studied painting under Shijō School artist Okamoto Toyohiko (1773-1845) in Kyoto, then later under Suzuki Nanrei (1775-1844) in Edo (Tokyo).

One ōbōsho surimono, complete. Folds, browning, stains, and marks. Lower margin trimmed. Washi paper repair to central crease on verso. Possibly also mounted on very thin washi. 34.3 x 53 cm.
