An album of 29 foreign bookplates compiled by the Japanese enthusiast "M. Kitamura", whose own bookplate is affixed to the upper pastedown and who has annotated several examples with the names of their bibliophile owners, artists, and donors. Included are ex libris, many woodblock printed, created for Alma Maguire, Carlyle S. Baer, C.W.D. Conacher, Arnold Hirst, F. (Frederick?) Starr, John Lane Mullins (first President of the Australian Ex Libris Society), F.A. Maguire, Mabel E. McQueen, James Throsby, H.M. Watson, Giorgio Dieci, Georgii Decii, Gigi Raimondo, Eugène Strens, Ernst Zitelmann, and others. Represented artists include Vojtěch Preissig, Shu Hokushō, Fujinami Tsutomu, and Frederico Sergio Bassoli. Several duplicate bookplates are present.

 

One stab-bound (musubitoji) volume, complete, on single leaves. Original wrappers lightly worn, handwritten daisen title panel to upper. Minor marks, creases, glue residue, and minor foxing internally. Large but light stain to last leaf and lower pastedown. [29] leaves. 24 x 17.4 cm.
