A collection of nineteen sensu fan designs by Shōji Chikushin (1854–1936), a leading pupil of the celebrated artist Shibata Zeshin. Most, if not all, are woodblock printed, and many are enhanced with metallic pigments. One design advertises Hachijirushi Kōzan Budōshu, a sweet medicinal grape wine made with honey and Chinese herbal ingredients, first marketed in 1881. An attractive collection of fan designs by Chikushin, encompassing landscapes, poetry, decorative motifs, and commercial imagery.

Set of 19 unmounted fan prints, mostly woodblock printed. Considerable stains, marks, wormholes, and creases to some fans. Extremities trimmed and chipped, corners bumped. Largest print measures approx. 52 x 17 cm at longest point; smallest measures approx. 43 x 13.5 cm at longest point.
