A kibyōshi that plays with the conventions of popular revenge tales, written (and possibly illustrated) by the famous author Jippensha Ikku. Ikku states in the preface that he was inspired to write the tale when he came across a handwritten fragment of a work titled Seiran Monogatari (A Story of the Blue Storm), inside which he discovered "a tale in which the vengeful demon of jealousy and the sorrowful spirit of resentment alike give rise to thoughts of revenge". Grotesque monsters feature prominently in Ikku's "supplement" to the tale, which seems to revolve around the damage a woman's jealousy can cause. In typical kibyōshi style, the volume ends with an advertisement for toothpaste, available for purchase at the publisher's store. The first series was produced in three parts and the second (and last) in two parts. The daisen title panel records that the work was "newly carved" in "spring of the tiger year".

Five parts in two series, bound together as one four-hole-bound (yotsumetoji) volume, complete, on double leaves, traditional East Asian binding style (fukurotoji). Original wrappers intact, bound with non-original upper wrapper. Original pictorial daisen panel of v.1 only present, stamped with ex-owner's small seal. Brief date inscription to upper wrapper of v.1. Creases, light marks, and small wormholes to wrappers and leaves. Ex-bookseller's note tipped-in between upper wrapper of v.1 and upper pastedown. 25 leaves (continuously paginated). 17 x 12.6 cm.
