A collection of five colour woodblock-printed illustrations designed by the acclaimed artist and graphic designer Takehisa Yumeji (1884–1934). The two landscape-format prints originally appeared tipped-in to covers of issues of the women's magazine Fujin Gurafu (The Ladies' Graphic) published in 1924, while the three portrait format prints were mounted inside the issues as vignettes. The hand-carved woodblocks used for the illustrations were printed mechanically with water-based pigments, making these fine examples of suisei kikai-zuri (water-based mechanical printing). A charming set of quintessential Yumeji designs, each depicting a beautiful woman in his distinctive style.

Set of five leaves, removed from the original bindings, each colour woodblock-printed on one side and mounted on thin card. Occasional foxing and marks to prints; minor wear to extremities. Sizes vary: largest print 27 x 12.5 cm; smallest 25.3 x 11.9 cm.
